Central multifunction display (optional) (Mitsubishi Pajero 4)

Attention:

• Before operating the system for a long time, make sure the vehicle is parked in a well-ventilated area to avoid accumulation of toxic gases in and around the vehicle.
• The driver must not operate the display while driving.
• Before working on the system, stop the vehicle in a safe place.
• When the ignition key is in the ACC position, the outside temperature and digital clock are displayed on the central multifunction display. When the ignition key is in the ON position, the display shows the average fuel consumption in addition to the temperature and clock.
• If the vehicle is equipped with automatic air conditioning, the set temperature, fan speed and air flow direction are also displayed.

Note:

*1: Vehicles with automatic air conditioning.

*2: Average fuel consumption:

• Petrol engine vehicles not equipped with a MITSUBISHI genuine audio system: Only average fuel consumption is displayed.
• Petrol engine vehicles equipped with a genuine MITSUBISHI audio system: In addition to average fuel consumption, the driving range and average speed can be displayed by pressing the DISP button on the audio unit.

Note:

• Units of measurement of displayed parameters (for example, kilometers or miles), and the display brightness can also be changed as desired. If the system cannot calculate a certain value for average fuel consumption/range/average speed, "—" is displayed.
• The values displayed on the display change depending on the vehicle's driving conditions (road conditions, driving style, etc.). The display readings are for reference only and may differ from the actual values.

Electronic clock with digital indication

The electronic clock can be set up in the following modes:

• Cars equipped with the original MITSUBISHI audio system: in automatic and manual modes.
• Vehicles not equipped with genuine MITSUBISHI audio system: manual mode only.

The transition from automatic to manual mode and back is carried out as follows:



1. Turn the ignition key to the ACC position.

2. Press the PWR button (A) to turn off the audio system.

3. While pressing and holding the CH4 (B) button, press and hold the PWR (A) button until you hear a beep. After this, the "CT" (C) indicator will go out and the manual mode will be activated.



4. To return to automatic mode, repeat the operations described in points 1-3. After this, the "CT" indicator will appear on the screen.

Offline configuration mode (cars equipped with original Mitsubishi audio system)

In automatic mode, local time is set automatically based on signals from local RDS stations. In this mode, the "CT" indicator (A) lights up on the display.

Manual setting mode

You can also enter manual mode if the time displayed in automatic mode is incorrect because the nearest RDS radio stations are in a different time zone.

The time is set using the buttons, the setting procedure is described below:

• If pressed between 10:30 and 11:29, the time will be set to 11:00.
• If pressed between 11:30 and 12:29, the time will be set to 12:00.

Date (Cars with diesel engines)

The date is set using the buttons, the setting procedure is described below.



1. To enter the date setting mode, press button M (B) while holding down button (A).



2. Press the button (A) to select the number setting. Then press the M (B) or H (C) button to set the required number. To change the date quickly, hold down the M (B) or H (C) button for approximately 2 seconds or longer.





3. Press the button (A) to select the month setting. Then press the M (B) or H (C) button to set the required month. To change the months quickly, hold down the M (B) or H (C) button for approximately 2 seconds or longer.



4. Press button (A) to select the year setting. Then press the M (B) or H (C) button to set the required year. To change the year quickly, hold down the M (B) or H (C) button for approximately 2 seconds or longer.



5. To save the set date, press the SET (D) button.

Note:

• After removing the wires from the battery terminals, you need to set the date again.
• If no button is pressed for approximately 15 seconds, the display will return to its previous readings.

Outside air temperature

The value (A) shows the outside air temperature. If the air temperature falls below approximately 3°C, a warning signal sounds and the warning symbol (B) flashes on the display for approximately 10 seconds.

Note:

• The outside air temperature display range is from -40° to +50°C.
• Due to the influence of driving conditions, surrounding conditions, etc., the displayed temperature may differ from the actual temperature.
• If the air temperature is below - 40° or above +50°C, the display will continue to show - 40° or +50°C respectively.

Traffic information

Cars with petrol engines equipped with genuine Mitsubishi audio system

It is possible to display average fuel consumption, range and average speed.

When the ignition key is turned to the ON position, the display shows 3 parameters in sequence, and then returns to the value displayed before the ignition was previously turned off.

Note: If you press the DISP button while viewing the parameters, the sequential change of parameters will stop and the value displayed before the ignition was previously turned off will be displayed.

Cars not equipped with genuine Mitsubishi audio system

Only the average fuel consumption value is displayed.

Changing display parameters (Cars with petrol engines equipped with genuine Mitsubishi audio system)

The display changes each time the DISP button is pressed (less than 2 seconds).

Average fuel consumption → Cruising range → Average speed

Average fuel consumption (Cars with gasoline engines)

Average fuel consumption (in liters per 100 km or in miles per gallon) displayed since the last reset. If you reset the readings at the moment from which you want to start measuring, the average fuel consumption will be counted from that moment.

Note:

• When the ignition key is turned to the ON position, the average fuel consumption value displayed before the ignition was previously turned off will be displayed again.
• Average fuel consumption varies depending on the vehicle's driving conditions (road conditions, driving style, etc.). This parameter is displayed for reference as the displayed fuel consumption value may differ from the actual one.

Press and hold the DISP button for more than 2 seconds.

Cars not equipped with genuine Mitsubishi audio system



Press and hold button (A) for more than 2 seconds.

Power reserve (Cars with petrol engines equipped with genuine Mitsubishi audio system)

This parameter shows the distance (in kilometers or miles), which can be driven on the fuel remaining in the tank.

Note:

• In the range display mode, a warning tone sounds when the range is less than 50 km (30 miles). In this case, refuel the vehicle as soon as possible.
• Even if the display shows another parameter, the system sounds a sound signal and the display shows the range value for 5 seconds if it reaches 50 km, 25 km and 10 km (or 30, 15 and 6 miles). The display then returns to the previous setting.
• The range constantly changes depending on driving conditions, driving style and other interrelated factors.
• Therefore, the value can only be used for reference. It is recommended to refuel immediately after the low fuel warning light on the instrument panel lights up.
• After refueling, the range value will be recalculated. However, if you add a small amount of fuel to the tank, the system will not be able to correctly calculate the range. Therefore, refuel at least 25 liters of fuel at a time.
• The displayed range is calculated based on the calculated fuel consumption data. When the wire is removed from the battery terminal, the fuel consumption data is erased from the memory, which affects the calculations made by the system.
• When the vehicle is stopped on a slope, the displayed range value may change randomly. This occurs as a result of fuel moving in the tank on a slope and is not a sign of a malfunction.

Average speed (Cars with petrol engines equipped with genuine Mitsubishi audio system)

This parameter shows the average speed (in km/h or miles per hour) since the last reset. If you reset the readings at the moment you want to start measuring, the average speed will be counted from that moment.

Resetting the average speed value

Press and hold the DISP button for at least 2 seconds.

Display settings

Adjusting display brightness

1. To enter the brightness adjustment mode, press the H (B) button while holding down the (A) button.



2. Brightness is adjusted by moving the cursor using the H (B) or M (C) buttons.



3. To fix the selected brightness, press the SET (D) button. The display will return to the parameter that was displayed before the adjustment.

Note:

• To exit the brightness adjustment mode before it is completed, press the (A) button.
• If no button is pressed for approximately 15 seconds, the selected brightness will be set automatically. After this, the display will again show the parameter that was displayed before the adjustment.

Selecting units of measurement (Cars with gasoline engines)

By default, the units of measurement are set to km/h and l/100 km. If you want to change the units of measurement to miles, follow the procedure below.

Note: If the vehicle is not equipped with a genuine Mitsubishi audio system, only the average fuel consumption units can be changed (kilometers or miles).

1. To enter the unit selection mode, press the M (B) button while holding down the (A) button. The display will show the currently selected unit.

2. Press the H (C) or M (B) buttons to select the speed units, then press the SET (D) button to confirm your selection.



3. If you selected kilometers as the unit of measurement in step 2, you must now change the fuel consumption unit using the H (C) or M (B) button. Press the H (C) or M (B) button to select the fuel consumption unit, then press the SET (D) button to confirm your selection.



4. The display will return to the parameter that was displayed before the adjustment.

Note:

If miles are selected as the units of measurement in step 2, the units of measurement for speed and fuel consumption will be as follows:

• Travel speed: miles per hour (mph).
• Fuel consumption: miles per gallon (mpg).
• To exit the unit selection mode before it is completed, press the (A) button.

• When selecting units of measurement, the digital clock and outside temperature value are not displayed.
• If the SET (D) button is not pressed for 15 seconds or more during the unit selection process, the selected units will be set automatically. After this, the display will again show the parameter that was displayed before the adjustment.

When removing the wire from the battery terminal

When the cable is removed from the battery, the set vehicle type is erased from the memory. You need to re-enter the settings as follows:

1. To enter the car type setting mode, turn the ignition key to the ON or ACC position. The display will flash "CAR TYPE".



2. For 3-door model, press the H button once. (The display will show "SHORT" as shown in the figure.) For 5-door model, press the M button once. (The display will show "LONG" as shown in the figure.)





3. To save your selection, press the SET button.

Note:

• If the vehicle type is incorrectly installed, proceed as follows:
• If the SET button is not yet pressed, press the H or M button to correct the error.
• If the SET button is already pressed, press the SET button for at least 2 seconds while pressing the (A) button. Then repeat the vehicle type setting procedure from the beginning.
