Examination
- Before checking, make sure the radiator cap is clean and free of contaminants, as rust or other foreign matter on the cap gasket may cause incorrect pressure gauge readings.
- To attach the radiator cap to the radiator cap tester, use a special adapter (Fig. 5.2).

- Increase the pressure until the pressure gauge needle stops
Nominal opening pressure of main valve: 75-105 kPa
Minimum opening pressure of the main valve: 65 kPa
- Make sure the valve opens and closes within the specified limits.
- Replace the radiator cap if the valve opens and closes outside the specified limits.
