Windscreen wiper and washer switch
1. Windshield wipers and washers can only be activated when the ignition is on (key in the ON or ACC position).
2. One of three types of switches is used to control the windshield wipers/washers.
Switch of the first type
Switching on the single wiper mode and the glass wash mode

1. The first type of switch is used to control windshield wipers without the ability to adjust the interval mode pause duration. In this case, the steering column switch lever is not equipped with a rotary handle. The wiper mode is selected by moving the lever to one of four possible positions:
- O off
- --- interval mode
- l slow motion
- ll fast movement
2. It is also possible to activate the wipers once - just pull the steering column switch lever slightly towards you. This function is especially useful when driving in fog or drizzling rain. Pulling the lever even harder will activate the washers
3. The windshield washers are turned on by pulling the steering column switch lever towards you.
Note: The supply of washer fluid is accompanied by several wiper cycles.
Switches of the second and third types
The other two types of switches are used to control the windscreen wipers with the ability to adjust the interval mode pause duration. The said adjustment is made by rotating the ring switch in the center of the steering column stalk lever handle, or by rotating the end handle of the lever. All functions are switched on in the same way as with the first type of switches (see above).

Rear Window Wiper and Washer Switch
1. The rear window wiper/washer is activated only when the ignition is on (the key is turned to the ON or ACC position).
2. The wiper is switched on by turning the control handle on the lever of the corresponding steering column switch. The wiper has two operating modes: continuous operation mode and interval mode, which are switched on by successively moving the handle clockwise from the zero position (O).
3. The washer fluid is supplied by turning the handle counterclockwise from the neutral position (O).
Precautions when using glass cleaners and washers
1. Attempts to start the windshield wipers with the brushes frozen to the glass are fraught with failure of the electric motor as a result of overheating. First, the glass should be cleared of ice/snow and warmed up by blowing hot air (see Section Comfort).
2. Avoid turning on the windshield wipers when the glass is dry - this can cause scratches on the glass and also significantly reduces the service life of the rubber working elements of the brushes.
3. Do not turn on the washer continuously for more than 20 seconds, also avoid turning on the washers when the reservoir is empty - this is fraught with failure of the drive electric motor of the feed pump. Periodically check the fluid level in the reservoir, if necessary, make the appropriate adjustment (see Chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance).
4. During the cold season, fill the windshield washer reservoir with only special frost-resistant compounds - freezing of the washer fluid can lead to failure of the reservoir and supply pipes.
5. Before using the washers in cold weather, pre-heat the glass - freezing of the liquid can lead to a dangerous deterioration in the driver's visibility.
