Type and properties of working fluids



Note: The lubricants and fluids recommended by the vehicle manufacturer at the time of writing are listed below. More up-to-date information can be obtained from the company's authorized service stations.


Engine oil



Type - Universal motor oil for gasoline engines of class SH or SJ according to API



Viscosity


Note: Manufacturer (Mitsubishi) recommend using SAE 5W-30 engine oil for all climate conditions; in moderate and hot climates, it is permissible to use SAE 10W-30 oil.


Attention! Pay attention to the warranty conditions of the new car regarding the use of synthetic motor oils!


Fuel



SOHC engines - Unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87

DOHC engines - Unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 91

Transmission oil for manual transmissions - Hypoid transmission oil SAE 75W-85W or 75W-90W (class GL-4 and higher according to API)

ATF for AT



ATF Mercon®

Transfer Case Oil (4WD Galant)



Hypoid transmission oil SAE 75W-85W or 75W-90W (class GL-4 and higher according to API)



Rear axle differential oil (all-wheel drive Galant)



API class GL-5 and higher

For ambient temperatures above -23°C - SAE 90, 85W-90 or 80W-90
