Antenna Base Access

On cars 1983-91. To access the base of the antenna, the front fender must be removed.
This procedure determines how to replace the cable and antenna base assembly.
The mast can be unscrewed from the base screen and removed separately.
1. To get the rear antenna cable, you need to remove the floor sections, right front and rear seats, sidewall trim, B-pillar trim, rear bottom panel, mat, and disconnect the cable from the receiver and antenna side.
2. Remove the receiver and disconnect the antenna cable.
3. Squeeze out the latches and remove the drawer for small items, disconnect the cable latches in the opening of the drawer.
4. Loosen the nut of the lower base of the antenna on the wing, unscrew the antenna mast.
5. On cars 1983-91. remove the front fender.
6. On cars 1992-98. remove the protective panel of the wheel arch.
7. Remove the top of the antenna base (screen) and carefully pull the cable through the hole.
8. If an antenna motor is provided, disconnect the motor connector.
9. Remove antenna base and motor (if provided).
10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
