Removal
1. Raise the front of the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Raise the lower arm with a jack.
4. Remove the boots from both ends of the torsion bar.
5. If the removed torsion bar is to be reinstalled, mark its position.
6. Unscrew the nut and remove the torsion bar from the suspension arm.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in reverse order, taking into account the following.
2. Install the removed torsion bar according to the marks applied, and the new one according to the white stripe that aligns with the mark on the lever (the strip must be facing forward, do not confuse the right and left torsion bars).

3. When assembling, maintain dimension A. For cars of 1983-91, A=13.5–14.2 cm (left torsion bar) and 12.4–13.2 cm (right torsion bar), for cars of 1992-98 A=14.9 cm (left torsion bar) and 14.85 cm (right torsion bar).
4. Adjust the front suspension clearance (set size B), for which on the removed torsion bar tighten the nut to its position before disassembly, on the new torsion bar tighten the nut, setting the dimension B: for cars of 1983-91 B no more than 6.1 cm (left torsion bar) and not more than 7.1 cm (right torsion bar), for cars of 1992-98 size B no more than 8.0 cm (both torsion bars).
5. Fill the boots with grease.

6. After lowering the vehicle, check the distance between the bumper bracket and the limiter (1983-91) (left) or between the bumper and the limiter (1992-98) (right). These distances should be 71-79 mm and 21-23 mm, respectively.
7. If necessary, adjust by turning the torsion bar bolt nut.
