Installing the Remote Shock Mounting Parts (1992-98)
1. Drive surface; 2. Nut; 3. Washer; 4. Hairpin; 5. Shock stud end; Dimension B = 1.5 - 2.5 mm
Removal and installation
1. Raise the front of the vehicle just enough to access the upper shock mount.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Turn away a nut of the top fastening, remove the rubber buffer and a washer.
4. Remove the bolt (s) bottom mount and remove the shock absorber.
5. When assembling, install the shock absorber, buffers and tighten the nuts and bolt (s), without delay.
6. Orient the shock absorber so that the white markings (1) was facing away from the car. On cars 199298. tighten the bolt nut with a torque of 88–103 Nm, on other vehicles tighten the lower mounting bolts with a torque of 9–14 Nm.
7. On cars 1992-98. tighten the top fastening nut so that dimension A=1–2 mm.
8. Screw in the top mounting nut to the end of the thread, then screw in and tighten the locknut to 12–18 Nm.
