Removal



1.. Raise the front of the car, remove the wheel, fender protection panel and mud deflector.

2. Remove the shock absorber.



3. Raise the lower arm with a jack and relieve the torsion bar by loosening the adjusting nut of the torsion bar arm bolt.

4. Disconnect the brake hose, release the hose from the bracket on the upper arm.

5. Remove the buffer bracket and brake hose bracket.

6. Remove the cotter pin from the nut and press out the upper ball joint using the MB990809-01 puller or equivalent.

7. Press out the steering rod pin.

8. Loosen the nuts and bolts of the lever axis, remove the adjusting washers and remove the lever.

Installation



9. Installation is carried out in reverse order, taking into account the following.

10. Install the adjusting washers in the same order, tighten the lever axle nuts first with a torque of 54 N·m, and after lowering the car – with a torque of 100–120 N·m.

11. Tighten the steering rod nut to a torque of 60–90 N·m, and the buffer buffer bolts to a torque of 9–14 N·m.

12. Adjust the torsion bar (see subsection 10.2.1), bleed the brakes.
