Front wheel alignment angles are checked and adjusted only in a car service center.

Angle of longitudinal inclination of the axis of rotation

If this angle is violated, the car does not "hold the road" well, and the steering wheel does not return (or slowly returns) in a position to drive straight after a turn. Adjusted by moving the upper arm axis.

On the vehicles in question, this angle is positive and should be 2°00`–3°00` on 1983-88 vehicles and 2°00`–3°50` on 1988-98 vehicles.

Wheel alignment

Adjustable by selecting washers (adjusting shims).

On the vehicles in question, this angle is positive and should be 0°30`–1°30` on 1983-91 vehicles, 0°10`–1°10` on 1992-94 vehicles, and 0°17`–1°17` on 1998 vehicles.

Wheel alignment angle

Adjusted by changing the length of the steering rod with the lock nut loosened.

Toe-in is measured in mm. On the vehicles in question, the toe-in of the front wheels is positive and should be 2–9 mm on vehicles produced in 1983–91, 2–7 mm on vehicles produced in 1992–98.
