Instrument cluster (1987-91)

Instrument cluster parts and speed sensor (1992-98)

Removal and installation
Cars 1983-86.
1. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the gearbox.
2. Using a flat tool, carefully pry up and remove the instrument panel cover.
3. Unscrew the screws at the bottom of the shield and the bolt at the top.
4. Remove the shield and disconnect the speedometer cable and wires.
5. Remove the shield.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Cars 1987-91.
1. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the gearbox.
2. Using a flat tool, carefully pry up and remove the instrument panel cover.
3. Disconnect the speedometer cable and wires.
4. Loosen the screws and remove the shield.
5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Cars 1992-98.
1. Disconnect the speedometer cable from the gearbox.
2. Using a flat tool, carefully pry up and remove the instrument panel cover.
3. Loosen the screws and remove the dashboard trim.
4. Unscrew 3 screws and remove the shield.
5. Disconnect the wires (except 1992-93).
6. On 1992-93 vehicles, disconnect the speedometer cable at the transmission, then pull the cable toward you, turn the adapter, release the lock and remove the cable adapter.
7. On 1994-95 vehicles, remove by disconnecting the wire from the sensor and unscrewing the sensor (the sensor is screwed into the tailpiece of the gearbox housing).
8. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Oil pressure, fuel level and temperature indicators, voltmeter
These devices are built into the panel. To replace any of them, you need to remove the dashboard and replace the entire instrument cluster.
