Fuel tank and pump

Removal and installation
1. Remove the carpet in the rear cargo area and remove the hatch.
2. Perform decompression.
3. Unscrew the filler cap and drain the gasoline.
4. Unscrew the fittings and remove the hoses and tubes from the pump and plug them.
5. Unscrew the mounting nuts and remove the pump.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Tighten the nuts to 16 Nm.
Before starting the engine, turn on the pump for 10 seconds.
Examination
1. Without removing the pump, it is checked by applying voltage from the battery to the terminal of the diagnostic connector with the ignition off (the connector is directly connected to the pump and is located on the right under the front panel in the passenger compartment). If the pump is working, pinch the fuel pressure hose and check if there is fuel pressure.

2. Connect the removed pump to the battery for 1–2 seconds, after draining the fuel from it.
3. You can also check the resistance of the pump windings without removing it – the ohmmeter should show a non-zero resistance.
