Removal the fuel tank
1. Reduce the fuel pressure in the fuel system.
2. Drain the fuel.
3. Remove the central gearbox mounting crossbar.
4. Remove the fuel tank bottom guard (1).
5. Remove the fuel tank feed pipe connection (2).
6. Remove the fuel system high pressure hose connection (3).
7. Remove the fuel return pipe connection (4).
8. Remove the front fuel tank mounting clamp (5).
9. Remove the rear fuel tank mounting clamp (6).
10. Remove the ventilation tube connection (7).
11. Disconnect the fuel tank wiring connector (8).
12. Remove the fuel tank (9).
13. Remove the high pressure fuel system pipe (10).
14. Remove the fuel system evaporator hose (11).
15. Remove the fuel tank evaporator hose (12).
18. Remove the fuel tank evaporator hose (13).
17. Remove the fuel tank evaporator hose (14).
18. Remove the fuel tank evaporator hose (15).
19. Remove the fuel system check valve (16).
20. Remove the fuel tank hose (17).
21. Remove the valve assembly (18).
22. Remove the gasket (19).
23. Remove the fuel tank evaporator hose (20).
24. Remove the fuel tank suction hose (21).
25. Remove the fuel tank wiring (22).
26. Remove the mounting plate (23).
27. Remove the fuel tank module assembly (24).
28. Remove the gasket (25).
29. Remove the fuel tank gauge (26).
30. Remove the gasket (27).
31. Remove the fuel tank drain plug (28).
32. Remove the gasket (29).
33. Remove the fuel tank (30).
Installing a fuel tank (short wheelbase)
1. Install the fuel tank (30).
2. Install the gasket (29).
3. Install the fuel tank drain plug (28).
4. Install the gasket (27).
5. Install the fuel tank gauge (26).
6. Install the gasket (25).
7. Install the fuel tank module assembly (24).
8. Install the mounting plate (23).
9. Install the fuel tank wiring (22).
10. Install the fuel tank suction hose (21).
11. Install the fuel tank evaporator hose (20).
12. Install the gasket (19).
13. Install the valve assembly (18).
14. Install the fuel tank hose (17).
15. Install the fuel system check valve (16).
16. Install the fuel tank evaporator hose (15).
17. Install the fuel tank evaporator hose (14).
18. Install the fuel tank evaporator hose (13).
19. Install the fuel tank evaporator hose (12).
20. Install the fuel system evaporator hose (11).
21. Install the high pressure fuel system pipe (10).
22. Install the fuel tank (9).
23. Connect the fuel tank wiring connector (8).
24. Install the ventilation tube connection (7).
25. Install the rear fuel tank mounting clamp (6).
26. Install the front fuel tank mounting clamp (5).
27. Install the fuel return pipe connection (4).
28. Install the fuel system high pressure hose connection (3).
29. Install the fuel tank feed pipe connection (2).
30. Install the fuel tank bottom guard (1).
31. Install the central gearbox mounting crossbar.
32. Fill the fuel tank with fuel.
33. Check the fuel system for fuel leaks.
Replacing the fuel level sensor
1. Remove the rear seat cushion.
2. Remove the protective cover and disconnect the sensor connector.
3. Loosen the mounting nuts and remove the fuel level sensor assembly from the tank.
4. Install the new fuel level sensor assembly, align the marks on the gasket with the holes in the fuel level sensor (indicated by arrows in the figure) and tighten the nuts to the specified tightening torque.
5. Connect the connector and install the protective cover.
6. Install the rear seat cushion in place.
