Removal the fuel injector
1. Reduce the fuel pressure in the fuel system.
2. Remove the expansion tank.
3. Disconnect the high pressure fuel hose connection (1).
4. Disconnect the fuel injector connector (2).
5. Disconnect the high pressure fuel hose connection (3).
6. Remove the fuel manifold and injectors as an assembly (4).
Caution: Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the fuel rail.
7. Remove the insulators (5).
8. Remove the fuel injector mount (6).
9. Remove the left fuel manifold (7).
10. Remove the fuel injectors as an assembly (8).
11. Remove the fuel injectors (9).
12. Remove the sealing ring (10).
13. Remove the sealing ring (11).
14. Remove the cooling outlet hose.
15. Disconnect the fuel injector connector (12).
16. Remove the fuel manifold and injectors as an assembly (13).
Caution: Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the fuel rail.
17. Remove the insulators (14).
18. Remove the fuel injector mount (15).
19. Remove the right fuel manifold (16).
20. Remove the fuel injector assembly (17).
21. Remove the fuel injectors (18).
22. Remove the sealing ring (19).
23. Remove the sealing ring (20).
Installing a fuel injector
Note: When installing, tighten the bolts to the torques shown in the figure.
1. Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the sealing ring before installation.
Caution: Be careful not to allow oil to enter the fuel manifold.
2. Install the sealing ring (20).
3. Install the sealing ring (19).
4. Install the fuel injectors (18).
5. Install the fuel injector assembly (17).
6. Install the right fuel manifold (16).
7. Install the fuel injector mount (15).
8. Install insulators (14).
9. Install the fuel manifold and injectors assembly (13).
10. Connect the fuel injector connector (12).
11. Install the cooling outlet hose.
12. Install the sealing ring (11).
13. Install the sealing ring (10).
14. Install the fuel injectors (9).
15. Install the fuel injectors as an assembly (8).
16. Install the left fuel manifold (7).
17. Install the fuel injector mount (6).
18. Install insulators (5).
19. Install the fuel manifold and injectors as an assembly (4).
20. Connect the high pressure fuel hose connection (3).
21. Connect the fuel injector connector (2).
22. Connect the high pressure fuel hose connection (1).
23. Install the expansion tank.
24. Check the fuel pressure in the fuel line.
