Removal
- Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
- Disconnect the fuel return line from the fuel injectors (see fig. 8.17).
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel pressure sensor and fuel injectors.
- Loosen the connecting nuts securing the high-pressure fuel line to the fuel pump and fuel distribution rail and remove the line. Immediately after disconnecting the high-pressure fuel lines, be sure to plug any openings through which contaminants may enter the fuel system.
- Loosen the connecting nuts securing the high-pressure fuel pipes to the fuel injectors and fuel distribution rail and remove the pipes.
- Unscrew the fuel pressure sensor.
- Remove the bolts and fuel injector holders and fuel injectors.
Installation
- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
- Start the engine and check the fuel system for leaks.
