General information

The gearbox is housed in an aluminum alloy housing and is attached to the left end of the engine. It consists of a gearbox, final drive, and differential.

Torque from the engine crankshaft is transmitted through the clutch to the primary shaft of the gearbox, on which the driven clutch disc is installed. Then the torque is transmitted to the secondary shaft and then to the differential and to the drive shafts. In the neutral position, the primary shaft and the secondary shaft gears rotate freely and do not transfer torque to the differential at the gear shift mechanism moves the corresponding fork, which moves the synchronizer and discolors the rigid connection of the secondary shaft gear with the secondary shaft.

To ensure smooth and fast gear engagement, synchronizers consisting of locking rings and spring-loaded pins, together with gears and hubs of synchronizer clutches, are installed on all forward gears. With their conical surface, the locking rings contact the conical belts of the corresponding gear at the moment of gear engagement.
