Removing
1. The brake light switch is fixed to the foot brake pedal bracket with a lock nut.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
3. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the brake light switch.
4. Loosen locknut and remove switch from pedal bracket.
Installation
1. Install a new sensor-switch on the foot brake pedal bracket, screw and lightly tighten the lock nut.
2. Adjust the position of the sensor-switch so that the distance between its body and the pedal is 0.5÷1.0 mm, - to turn off the brake lights, the plunger of the sensor-switch must rest against the pedal. When the pedal is depressed, the plunger is released, which leads to the operation of the brake lights.
3. While holding the switch in the desired position, tighten the jam nut firmly.
4. Connect the wiring to the sensor-switch.
5. Check the correct functioning of the sensor-switch, for which turn on the ignition (do not start the engine) and ask an assistant to depress the foot brake pedal several times - the brake lights should definitely work with each depressing already at the beginning of the pedal stroke.
6. If necessary, repeat the adjustment process.
Note. A slight play of the pedal should not lead to the operation of the sensor-switch in order to avoid unauthorized activation of the brake lights when the vehicle is moving on uneven road surfaces.
