Attention! Remember that the brake fluid drained from the tract cannot be reused!
Rules for servicing the lines of the hydraulic path
1. Checking the condition of metal and rubber brake lines should be done on a regular basis in accordance with the vehicle's routine maintenance schedule (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance). Carefully inspect all brake path lines for mechanical damage and signs of leak development. The deformation of the tubes can lead to a violation of their patency, which in this case is fraught with a violation of the efficiency of the brake system (up to the complete failure of the corresponding circuit). Rubber hoses should be checked for cracks, cuts, abrasions, swelling and other signs of destruction of protective fittings.
2. When disconnecting the brake lines, special attention should be paid to cleanliness - before disconnecting, thoroughly clean the surface of the nipple connectors (use a brush and special cleaning products). Immediately after disconnecting the lines, plug their open ends to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the tract.
3. Before installation, replaceable sections should be flushed with clean brake fluid.
Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Jack up the car and put it on stands.
3. In order to provide access to the brake line in need of service, remove the appropriate wheel.
4. Carefully (using a special cleaner) Wipe the in-line connectors to be removed and their surroundings.
5. Prepare a drain container and rags to collect spilled brake fluid.
6. Disconnection of the nipple connector is carried out using two keys, one of which (cap with split head) is put on the union nut, and the second is used to keep the mating part of the joint from turning. The use of two wrenches will avoid highly undesirable deformations of the hydraulic line and damage to the fitting.
7. Any sealing washers used in nipple connectors must be replaced without fail!
8. After moving the drain container, disconnect the second end of the serviced section of the brake path (also use two keys).
9. Release the disconnected line from intermediate clips and remove it from the car. Seal the open ends of the disconnected path immediately.
Installation
1. When installing a replacement section of the brake line, you should start by connecting the end of it that is more distant from the master cylinder. When baiting the choke nut, make sure that it does not warp, which is fraught with a thread break.
2. The fittings are also tightened using two wrenches.
3. After installing the replacement section, make sure that it does not come into contact with moving suspension / steering components (removal of at least 13 mm is considered safe).
4. Make sure the line is secured in all provided intermediate fixings/support brackets.
Note. When installing flexible brake hoses, make sure that they are not twisted.
5. Install all components removed for access, then lower the vehicle to the ground.
6. Add the required amount of fresh hydraulic fluid to the GTZ reservoir (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance), and bleed the brake system (see Section Bleeding the brake system).
