Note. On other models, this switch is built into the combination stalk assembly and is not serviceable individually.
Removing
1. With the appropriate vehicle equipment, deactivate the airbag, for which bring the front wheels to a straight position and remove the key from the ignition (column should be locked). Disconnect the negative cable from the battery and wrap a good quality electrical tape around its terminal tip. Wait at least one minute for the airbag to remain active in offline mode.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Remove the steering wheel (see Section Removal and installation of a steering wheel).
3. Remove the hood release handle.
4. Remove the switches located on the panel of a knee emphasis under a steering column, turn out the opened screws and dismantle an emphasis.
5. Remove the top and bottom sections of a casing of a steering column.
6. If required, remove the footwell air supply hose, then carefully disconnect the electrical wiring from the wiper control switch assembly.
7. Turn out fixing screws and remove assembly of the switch from a steering column.
Installation
1. Install the switch assembly in its regular place and connect the appropriate electrical wiring to it, - make sure that all the latches provided are securely snapped into place.
2. If removed, replace the footwell air supply hose.
3. Install the steering column shroud sections and knee brace.
4. Install the hood release handle.
5. Make sure the front wheels of the vehicle remain straight and reposition the steering wheel (see Section Removal and installation of a steering wheel).
6. Connect the negative cable to the battery and turn the ignition key to the ON position, the SRS warning lamp on the instrument panel should turn on for seven seconds.
7. Check up serviceability of functioning of the switch.
