Removal the lower timing belt guard (Mitsubishi Pajero 1)

1. Remove the upper timing belt guard (four bolts).

2. Loosen the power steering pump drive V-belt and remove the V-belt.

3. Loosen the alternator drive V-belt and remove the V-belt.

4. After unscrewing the bolts, remove the fan impeller with a viscous coupling together with the belt pulley.

5. Engage the gear, apply the handbrake and loosen and remove the crankshaft belt pulley.

6. Loosen the bolts securing the lower toothed belt guard and remove the guard.

7. Installation is carried out in reverse order. The fan casing and clutch mounting bolts are tightened to a torque of 10–12 N·m. The large belt pulley bolt is tightened to a torque of 170–190 N·m. Install and tension the V-belts for the power steering pump and alternator drive.
