The diesel engines of the vehicles in question are equipped with a quick start system (Quick Glow System), providing diesel engine start-up in 5–10 s. The system includes resistive spark plugs, a relay and an additional resistor. The system remains on until the liquid temperature exceeds 55°C.

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery from ground.

2. Loosen the nuts and disconnect the spark plug supply line.

3. Remove the spark plugs. It is prohibited to subject spark plugs to sudden mechanical loads.

4. Check the spark plug resistance, which should be 0.23 Ohm, as well as the condition of the power bus.

Installation

1. Install the spark plugs in reverse order and tighten them to 17 Nm.

2. Tighten the tire mounting nuts to a torque of 1.4 Nm.
