Driver side airbag module

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal (1).
2. Remove the cover (2).
3. Disconnect the signal connector connection (3).
4. Disconnect the driver airbag module connector (4).
5. Remove the driver's airbag module (5).
Note: When disconnecting the clock spring connector from the air bag module, push the air bag lock toward the faceplate to open it. Use a flat-head screwdriver as shown in the picture on the left to gently pry up the connector.
Caution: When disconnecting the clock spring - airbag module connector, be careful not to apply excessive force to it. The removed airbag module should be stored in a clean, dry place with the cover facing up.
6. Remove the steering wheel assembly (6).
Caution: Do not knock on the steering wheel. This may result in damage to the safety steering column.
7. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.
8. Remove the clock spring (7).
Caution: The removed watch spring must be stored in a clean, dry place.
Passenger side airbag module

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal (1).
2. Disconnect the passenger side airbag module connector (2).
3. Remove the instrument panel.
4. Remove the distribution pipe.
5. Remove the side airbag bracket (3).
6. Remove the passenger side airbag module (4).
Side airbag module

1. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal (1).
3. Remove the seat back assembly with the side airbag module (2).
