
An emergency airbag warning light located in the instrument cluster monitors the circuits of the front airbags, side airbags, and seat belt pre-tensioning mechanisms.
When the ignition switch is turned to the ON or START position, the airbag indicator light in the instrument cluster comes on. If the system is functioning normally, the airbag indicator light goes out after 7 seconds.
Warning: If any of the following conditions are present, the airbags and seat belt pretensioners should be inspected and serviced:
- the airbag status indicator light stays on after 7 seconds:
- the airbag status indicator light flashes intermittently;
- the airbag status indicator light does not light at all.

Service and information plates are located in the locations shown in the figure.

SRS Maintenance
The entire SRS system including air bags and seat belt pretensioners should be checked every 10 years by an authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.
Warnings
- (1) Service of the air bags and seat belt pretensioner mechanism must be performed by a MITSUBISHI dealer. Installation of electrical equipment must also be done by a MITSUBISHI dealer. Unauthorized electrical test equipment and monitoring devices must not be used when checking the air bags and seat belt pretensioner mechanism.
- (2) For disposal of air bags and seat belt pre-tensioner, contact your MITSUBISHI dealer.
Note: When selling a vehicle, please disclose to the buyer the presence of airbags and a seat belt pretensioner.
