The airbag warning light, located in the instrument cluster, monitors the front airbag, side airbag, and seat belt pretensioner circuits.
When the key in the ignition switch is turned to the ON or START position, the airbag warning lamp lights up in the instrument cluster. If the system is functioning normally, the airbag warning light will turn off after 7 seconds.
Warning. If the following symptoms are present, check the condition and service the airbags and seat belt pretensioners:
- airbag status warning lamp illuminates after 7 seconds:
- the airbag status warning lamp flashes intermittently;
- The airbag indicator light does not come on at all.

Service and information plates are located in the places shown in the figure.
SRS Maintenance
The entire SRS system including airbags and seat belt pretensioners should be checked every 10 years by an authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.
Warnings
- (1) The airbags and seat belt pretensioner must be serviced by a MJTSUBISHI dealer. Electrical installation must also be done by a MITSUBISHI dealer. Unauthorized electrical test equipment and monitoring devices must not be used to test airbags and the pre-applied seat belt mechanism.
- (2) Contact your MITSUBISHI dealer to dispose of the airbags and seat belt pretensioner.
Note. When selling the vehicle, provide the buyer with information about the presence of airbags and the seat belt pretensioner.
