Caution: Before starting work, disconnect the negative (-) terminal from the battery and wait at least 60 seconds. In addition, wrap the removed terminal with insulating tape. Never attempt to disassemble or repair the air bag modules or clock spring. If a fault is found, replace them. Do not drop modules or the clock spring on the floor, or allow them to come into contact with water, oil or fuel. If dents, cracks or deformation and corrosion are found, replace the modules and clock spring with new ones. Airbag modules should be stored on a horizontal surface with the protective cover facing up. Do not place foreign objects on them. Do not allow the modules to heat up above 93°C. After the driver and passenger airbags have deployed, replace the airbag modules with new ones. After the side airbag has deployed, the front seat back assembly (driver's seat or passenger seat) must be replaced with a new one as a whole. When handling deployed air bags, wear safety glasses and gloves. Disposal of failed modules is carried out in strict accordance with the methodology.
