2. If replacing brushes or correcting the brush contact surface, wrap the commutator with sandpaper and, rotating the commutator, clean the contact surface of the brushes.
3. When removing worn brushes, be careful not to damage the brush wires and crumble the old brushes with pliers.
4. Sand the end of the brush wire to ensure a strong solder joint.
5. Insert the brush conductive wire into the brush hole and solder it. Remove excess solder from the brush surface.
