1. On vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes, remove the caliper assembly, hang it on a wire and remove the brake disc.

2. On vehicles equipped with rear drum brakes, remove the brake drum.

3. Check the axial clearance of the hub bearings. Place a dial indicator against the rear axle surface; then move the axle shaft in the axial direction and check whether there is axial clearance or not.

Maximum allowable value: 0.00 mm

4. If the axial clearance exceeds the maximum permissible value, replace the rear wheel hub assembly.
