  • The interior upholstery is secured with screws, clips or latches (Fig. 17.91).

Fig. 17.91. Interior upholstery: 1 - lower trim of the front pillar; 2 - Front door sill trim; 3 - rear door sill trim; 4 - lower trim of the central pillar; 5 - upper trim - front pillar; 6 - upper trim of the central pillar; 7 - footrest; 8 - lower trim of the rear pillar; 9 - Upper trim of the rear pillar

  • Before removing the interior trim, check that it is not held in place by another piece of trim placed on top of it.
  • First, remove the visible screws securing the interior trim element. If the interior trim element does not come off after this, it is held in place by hidden latches or clips. The latches or clips are usually located around the perimeter of the trim and must be removed using a wide, flat blade screwdriver.
  • To install, you need to align the retainer with the hole and, pressing on the interior upholstery, firmly fix it in the hole.
  • The car floor carpet is secured with screws around the perimeter and in several places in the center.
  • Removal the carpet is not difficult, but it does require removing many components from the car's interior, such as seats, seat belts, center console, etc.
