2. Make sure that the engine coolant temperature is not higher than 40°C.
3. Measure the voltages in the glow plug supply circuit of each engine cylinder.
- For Cylinder #1 Glow Plug, measure the voltage between track 5 of the glow relay box connector and «weight».
- For the #2 cylinder glow plug, measure the voltage between track 7 of the glow relay box connector and «weight».
- For cylinder #3 glow plug, measure the voltage between track 3 of the glow relay box connector and «weight».
- For the #4 cylinder glow plug, measure the voltage between track 4 of the glow relay box connector and «weight».
4. Measure the voltage immediately after turning on the ignition (without engine start). Rated voltage value - 9-11 V (voltage drops to 0V within 0.5-16 seconds)
Also check that the glow plug indicator light comes on immediately after the ignition is turned on.
Note. When the key in the ignition switch is in the ON position, the voltage generation time varies depending on the coolant temperature.
5. Measure the voltage while the starter is cranking the engine.
Rated voltage: not less than 6V
6. Start the engine and measure the voltage while the engine is warming up. The voltage always decreases to 0 V within 10-60 seconds after the engine is started.
Rated voltage: 12-15V
Note. When the key in the ignition switch is in the ON position, the voltage generation time varies depending on the coolant temperature.
