2. Since tire pressure has a great influence on vehicle handling and tire wear rate, tire pressure should be checked at least once a month or before long journeys (See related chapter).
3. The wheel must be replaced if it is bent, deformed, the tire is leaking, the wheel bolt holes are bored out, the wheel is rusty, oval, or the wheel nuts cannot be tightened sufficiently. It is not recommended to repair the wheel if it requires welding or work hardening.
4. Wheel balancing is important for vehicle handling, braking and driving at high speeds. Out-of-balance wheels can reduce vehicle handling and tire life. When installing a new tire on a rim, the wheel must be balanced in a workshop that has the necessary equipment.
