Caution: Wait until the engine has cooled down.


Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Drain the coolant.

3. Unclip the hose clamps, then disconnect the radiator hoses from the fittings. If they look badly worn, they should be replaced.

4. Disconnect the hose from the radiator filler neck.



4.5 To disconnect the engine fan wire, press the tab (indicated by the arrow).


5. Disconnect the cooling fan connector (4.5).

6. If the vehicle has an automatic transmission, disconnect the cooling system pipes from the radiator.

7. To prevent liquid leakage, it is necessary to seal all pipes.

8. Disconnect the air intake duct and air cleaner hose, if equipped.



4.9 Remove the bolts securing the bracket and insulators to the radiator (2.0L Galant engine shown)




9. Unscrew the mounting bolts securing the radiator.(4.9)

10. Carefully remove the radiator.

11. Inspect the radiator for signs of leaks and damage. If any are found, the radiator should be replaced.

12. Clean the radiator from dirt and dead insects.

Installation



13. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

14. Fill the cooling system with coolant.

15. Start the engine and check the system for any signs of leaks.

Once the engine has warmed up to normal temperature, check the coolant level again.

16. If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, check the fluid level and add fluid as needed.
