Antifreeze and corrosion inhibitors — general information (Mitsubishi Colt 4)

If the temperature is expected to drop below 0°C, it is necessary to drain some of the water and add the appropriate amount of ethylene glycol antifreeze to the cooling system. If antifreeze is not used, it is recommended to add a corrosion inhibitor to the cooling system in the proportion recommended by the manufacturer.

Any ethylene glycol-based antifreeze can be used. Do not use alcohol-based antifreeze, as it evaporates too much.



Most fluids with anti-corrosion additives can remain in the cooling system for up to two years, but it is recommended to measure the specific gravity of the fluid after 6 months and repeat these measurements every 3 months.
