Checking and adjusting the clutch pedal (Mitsubishi Colt 5)

1. Fold back the mat under the clutch pedal.

2. Measure the height A of the clutch pedal (Figure 11.1). Nominal value A: 162-165 mm.

3. If the clutch pedal height is not as required, loosen the lock nut and adjust the pedal height with the adjusting bolt or piston rod (Figure 11.2).

4. Measure the clearance B of the clutch pedal (Figure 11.3). Nominal value: 1-3 mm.

5. If the clutch pedal clearance is incorrect, adjust it using the piston rod.

Caution! Do not press in the piston rod of the clutch master cylinder.


6. After adjustment, check the distance D between the clutch pedal and the floor when the clutch pedal is depressed (Figure 11.4). Standard value: 85 mm or more.
