Removal
1. Jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on supports. Apply the parking brake and block the rear wheels.
2. Remove the exhaust pipe (see Chapter 4).
3. On Mirage models, disconnect the tie rod ends from the steering knuckle to increase clearance (see section 19).
4. Unscrew the support bracket mounting bolts (if any), then remove the bracket.

5. Remove the longitudinal beam. On some models, a dynamic damper is attached to it. Remove the damper together with the longitudinal beam.
6. Unscrew the bolts securing the stabilizer to the lower arm and remove the clamps, noting their location.

2.6b. Unscrew the bolt (shown by the arrow) and disconnect the stabilizer from the rod (Galant model shown)
Note: On some models, the stabilizer bar is attached to a tie rod, which in turn is attached to the lower control arm. If the tie rod has a self-locking nut, use a socket or socket wrench.
7. Unscrew the stabilizer bracket bolts and remove the stabilizer from the vehicle.
2.7. Unscrew the bolt (shown by the arrow) from each stabilizer bracket, turn the brackets down and remove the stabilizer from under the car
8. Remove the brackets from the stabilizer and inspect the bushings for cracks, hardening, or other signs of damage. If the bushings are damaged, replace them.
Installation
9. Position the bushings on the stabilizer with the splines facing the front of the vehicle.
10. Install the lower ends of the brackets into the slots, press the bracket into the bushings, then lift the stabilizer toward the frame. Install the bracket bolts, but do not tighten them completely.
11. Install the rubber bushings, clamps and bolts securing the stabilizer to the control arms. Tighten the bolts by hand.
12. Tighten the bracket bolts.
13. Lower the vehicle and tighten the tie rods securely.
