Removal



1. Raise the vehicle and remove the front wheels.

2. Remove the front section of the exhaust pipe.

3. On Colt, Lancer, Mirage models, disconnect the tie rod ends from the steering knuckles to gain additional clearance.



2.4 Unscrew the three bolts (indicated by arrows) securing the mounting bracket


4. Unscrew the bolts securing the mounting bracket and remove it (2.4).

5. Remove the suspension cross member.



2.6a Anti-roll bar elements and struts (Precis)

2.6b Remove the bolt (arrow) and disconnect the anti-roll bar from the connecting link (Galant model shown)






2.7 Unscrew the bolts (indicated by the arrow) of all brackets, lower the brackets and remove the anti-roll bar from the car


6. Remove the bolts and clamps securing the anti-roll bar to the suspension arms (2.6a and 2.6b).

7. Unscrew the anti-roll bar bracket mounting bolts and remove the anti-roll bar from the vehicle (2.7).

8. Remove the brackets from the stabilizer bar and inspect the bushings for cracks or signs of wear. Replace the bushings if necessary.

Installation



9. Install the bushings onto the anti-roll bar with the cut facing forward.

10. Reinstall the brackets and install the stabilizer bar on the vehicle. Insert the bracket bolts, but do not tighten them yet.

11. Install the bushings, clamps and bolts securing the anti-roll bar to the control arms. Tighten the bolts lightly.

12. Tighten the bracket bolts.

13. Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the clamp bolts.
