2. Place the compressors on the spring and compress it.
5.3 While holding the spring seat, unscrew the nut on the piston rod
3. Unscrew the nut on the piston rod, holding the spring seat (5.3).
5.4a Suspension strut elements
1. Cap; 2. Isolator; 3. Spring seat; 4. Rubber damper; 5. Piston; 6. Nut; 7. Sealing ring; 8. Spring; 9. Rack
5.4b Remove the insulator and upper spring seat from the strut
4. Remove the insulator and the upper spring seat (5.4a and 5.4b). Check the condition of the bearing in the insulator and replace it if necessary.
5. Remove the spring.
5.6 Unscrew the nut and pour out the liquid
6. Remove the rubber damper. Unscrew the seal nut and discard it (5.6).
7. Remove the strut from the vice and drain the shock absorber fluid.
5.8 Remove the sealing ring
1. Sealing ring
8. Clamp the strut in a vice again and remove the sealing ring from the strut (5.8). Remove the piston.
9. Wash the rack with solvent and dry it with compressed air. Wash the piston.
10. Lubricate the shock absorber cylinder and piston with clean damping fluid. Insert the piston into the cylinder. Install the cylinder and piston on the suspension strut.
11. Fill the cylinder with damping fluid.
5.12 Lubricate the piston rod and install the guide bushing with the flange facing up
1. Guide bushing
12. Install the guide sleeve on the piston with the flange facing up (5.12).
13. Install a new sealing ring between the guide bushing and the shock absorber.
14. Lubricate the lip of the seal and the threads of the nut and tighten it securely.
15. Check the piston stroke.
5.16a The end of the spring must be installed in the protrusion on the socket
5.16c The upper end of the spring must be installed in the protrusion on the upper socket (indicated by the arrow)
16. Pull the piston out completely. Install the rubber damper, spring and upper spring seat (5.16a, 5.16b, 5.16c).
5.16b When installing the upper seat, make sure that the flat side of the hole matches the flat side on the piston rod (indicated by arrows)
17. Install the insulator and new nut, tighten the nut to the required tightening torque.
18. Install the suspension strut and spring onto the vehicle.
