Removal



1. Raise the vehicle and remove the wheel.



3.3b...then unscrew the two bolts and nuts (indicated by arrows) securing the strut to the suspension arm


2. Unscrew the bolts and nuts securing the strut to the suspension arm (3.3b) and the nut and bolt securing the ball joint to the suspension arm.



6.3a Unscrew the nut and remove the lever pivot bolt (indicated by the arrow) - if the bolt cannot be removed, knock it out (Precis)

6. Зв Rear inner mounting bracket of the control arm. Unscrew the bolts and nuts (indicated by arrows) to remove the arm from the body (Galant)


3. Unscrew the nut and remove the lever pivot bolt (6.3a, 6.3b and 6.3v). Disconnect the lever from the crossmember.

Inspection



4. Inspect the lever for deformation. Inspect the bushings for wear or damage. Replace the lever and bushings if necessary.

Installation



5. Install the control arm onto the crossmember. Install the bolt and nut, but do not tighten them completely yet.

6. Connect the outer end of the arm to the ball joint and strut and tighten the three nuts to the specified torque.

7. Place a jack under the ball joint and raise the arm to the position it is in when the vehicle is moving and tighten the nut and pivot bolt to the specified torque.

8. Install the wheel and lower the car to the ground.
