Gearbox Mounting Assemblies — Checking and Replacing (Mitsubishi Galant 5)

1. Insert a large screwdriver or pry bar between the mount and the transmission and try to pry it out.



2. The gearbox should not move away from the mounting unit too much. Otherwise, replace the mounting unit.

3. To replace the mounting unit, support the gearbox with a jack, unscrew the nuts and bolts and remove the mounting unit. To ensure sufficient clearance for removing the mounting unit, you can slightly raise the gearbox.

4. Perform installation in reverse order.
