Checking and replacing gearbox oil (Mitsubishi Colt 4)

Checking the level

With the vehicle on a level surface, unscrew the filler plug (1) and check the oil level (2).



The oil level should be at the lower edge of the filler hole.

Replace the filler plug and tighten it to the specified torque.

Replacement

Place a suitable container under the drain plug, then loosen and unscrew the drain plug (1) (see figure).



Drain the oil.

Replace the drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque.

Unscrew the filler plug (2) and fill with new oil to the specified level.

Replace the filler plug (2) and tighten it to the specified torque.
