Elements of the gearbox control mechanism of late model years
1, 5 - gear shift cable connection; 2, 6 - gear selection cable connection; 3 - retainer; 4 - bracket; 7 - gear shift lever housing; 8 - bushing; 9 - spacer sleeve.


Removal



Remove the air filter assembly.

Remove the gear shift knob by pulling it up.

Remove the bushing and front floor console assembly.

Disconnect the selector cable from the gear shift lever.

After removing the retainer, disconnect the gear shift cable.

After removing the cotter pins, disconnect the gear selection and gear shift cables and remove them.

Installation



Installation is carried out in reverse order, taking into account the following:

Set the gearshift lever (1) on the gearbox and the gearshift lever in the passenger compartment to the neutral position (2).



On the gearbox side, identify the ends of the gear shift and gear selection cables using the marks.



Secure them with cotter pins.

After moving the gear shift lever to all operating positions, check its functionality.

Shifting should be smooth and without sticking.
