Tank:; 1,2. Hoses; 3. Tank

Power steering pump (1990-98)





1. Pump cover; 2. Belt; 3, 4. Hoses; 5. Ring; 6. Pressure sensor connector (except 12-valve 3.0L engines with manual transmission); 7. Pump; 8, 9. Pump brackets; 10. Stock; 11. Tensioner bracket; 12. Tensioner roller


Removal and installation



1. Disconnect the battery from ground.

2. Remove the tank, disconnect the lower hose and drain the liquid.

3. If the pulley is to be removed, loosen the pulley bolts.

4. Loosen the pump mounting bolts and remove the belt.



5. On the 24-valve 3.0L engine and the 3.5L engine, remove the belt by loosening the tensioner bolt.

6. Turn the pump by hand and remove any remaining liquid.

7. Disconnect the hoses from the pump, unscrew the bolts and remove the pump.

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order.



9. When installing the pressure hose, the groove must be oriented in a certain way.

10. Check the condition of the tubes.

11. Tighten all connections to the specified torques.

12. Fill the fluid and remove air from the power steering.
