Pedal height and free play adjustment
1. Without cruise control; 2. With cruise control system; 3. Locknut; 4. Sensor; 5. Bolt
1. Check the height of the clutch pedal platform A and the stroke B of the master cylinder, which, when measured on the pedal pad, should be 180.5–190.5 mm and 1–3 mm, respectively.
2. If necessary, adjust these dimensions by doing the following.
3. On vehicles without cruise control, set dimension A by turning the bolt with the lock nut released.
4. On vehicles with a cruise control system, disconnect the connector and set dimension A by rotating the sensor housing with the lock nut released.
5. The free travel of rod B is regulated by rotating the rod of the clutch master cylinder with the lock nut released, while the rod does not rest against the cylinder piston.
6. Make sure pedal free play (C) (the distance the pedal travels before a significant resistance is felt) and pedal height when the clutch is fully disengaged (D) correspond to the norm.
7. Free wheeling: a/m 1992-98 - 6-13 mm, a/m 1990-91 - 8-16 mm. Pedal height - not less than 35 mm.
8. If the free play and pedal height are not correct, then the cause is air ingress into the hydraulic actuator, wear on the clutch or master cylinder.
