Adjusting the door installation
Attention:
- Attach protective fabric to the front fender and door edges where the awnings are installed.
- Do not turn the door hinge adjusting key MB991164 with a tightening torque greater than 98 Nm.
1. Adjust the gap between the front door and the body.
1) Loosen the rear mounting bolts of the front door hinges using the special adjustment key MB991164 or MB990900.
2) Remove the mudguard.
3) Loosen the front door hinge mounting bolts using the special adjustment key MB991164 or MB990900.
4) Move and adjust the front door so that the gap corresponds to the standard value.
2. Adjust the gap between the rear door and the body.
1) Loosen the rear door hinge mounting bolts on the body side.
2) Move and adjust the rear door so that the gap corresponds to the standard value.
3. If the door is not installed flush with the surrounding panels, loosen the door hinge mounting bolt on the door side, nut and adjust the door.
4. If closing and opening the door is difficult.
1) Adjust using a striker. Install temporary bolts in place of the striker mounting bolts, and drive the temporary bolts in the direction shown in the figure using the MB990939 stand and hammer.

2) Move the striker forward and backward using the special hammer MB990211 and puller MB990243.
3) Install pads under the lock striker, if necessary.
Adjustment and replacement of window lifters in case of malfunction
If the door glass automatically starts to move down when it is raised, perform the following adjustment or replacement procedures.
1. Remove the door trim and waterproof film.
2. Remove the window regulator assembly from the door, and then raise and lower the door glass by hand to check the operating force.
Note: Insert a cushion or similar object to prevent damage to the glass if it is accidentally dropped.
3. If the door glass does not move up and down smoothly, check or repair the following parts.
Check that the guide groove is installed correctly.
Eliminate twisting of the door guide.
Check that the bottom guide or center guide is installed correctly.
Note: The lower glass guide is not normally adjustable, however it is possible to move it outward slightly within the manufacturer's tolerance during reinstallation.
4. If repair or adjustment is not possible, replace the door assembly.
