Removal the steering shaft (Mitsubishi Pajero 4)

Caution: On vehicles equipped with the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), before removing the airbag module.


1. Remove the steering wheel and airbag module assembly.

2. Remove the lower part of the instrument panel assembly.

3. Remove the fuse box mounting bolt.



4. Remove the lower steering column cover (1).

5. Remove the upper steering column cover (2).

6. Remove the clock spring.

7. Remove the combination switch (3).

8. Unscrew the nut (4).

9. Unscrew the bolt (5).

10. Unscrew the bolt (6).

11. Remove the steering column shaft assembly (7).

12. Remove the steering shaft (8).

13. Remove the steering column mounting bracket (9).
