Caution: For vehicles with SRS, before removing the steering gear, set the front wheels parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and remove the ignition key from the lock. Failure to follow these conditions may result in damage to the SRS clock spring and unexpected air bag deployment, which may result in serious injury.
1. Drain the fluid from the power steering system.
2. Remove the engine crankcase guard.
3. Disconnect the front differential and propeller shaft connection.
4. Remove the wheel speed sensor wiring bracket and disconnect the hose connection.
5. Loosen the differential mounting bracket mounting bolts.

6. Remove the cotter pin (1).
7. Disconnect the connection between the steering rod end and the steering knuckle (2).
Caution: Using the special tool, loosen the ball joint pin mounting nut. Do not remove the nut from the ball joint pin. To prevent the puller from bouncing, tie it with a cord.

8. Remove the pressure pipe and return pipe (3).
9. Remove the sealing ring (4).
10. Unscrew the bolt (5).
11. Remove the gasket (6).
12. Disconnect the pressure pipe connection (7).
13. Remove the sealing ring (8).
14. Disconnect the return hose connection (9).
15. Disconnect the return pipe connection (10).
16. Remove the sealing ring (11).
17. Remove the clamp (12).
18. Remove the power steering gear (13).
