2. Release air from the hydraulic system and then, with the vehicle stationary, turn the steering wheel several times until the temperature of the working fluid rises to 50-60°C.
3. Start the engine and maintain the speed at 750±100 rpm.
4. Completely close the shut-off valve on the measuring pressure gauge, measure the pump discharge pressure and check its compliance with the nominal value.
Nominal value:
- Car with engine capacity 3800: 7.8 - 8.3 MPa
- Car with engine capacity 3200: 8.5 - 9.0 MPa
Caution: The shut-off valve should not be closed for more than 10 seconds.
5. If the discharge pressure does not correspond to the nominal one, the pump must be replaced.
8. Check the pressure in the hydraulic system without load with the shut-off valve fully open.
Nominal value: 0.5 MPa
7. If the measured pressure value does not correspond to the nominal value, then the cause of the malfunction should be sought in the steering mechanism or hydraulic system hoses.
8. Open the shut-off valve completely.
9. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left or right and measure the holding pressure.
Nominal value:
- Car with engine capacity 3800: 7.8 -8.3 MPa
- Car with engine capacity 3200: 8.5 - 9.0 MPa
10. If the measured pressure does not correspond to the nominal, replace the steering gear and re-measure the pressure value.
11. Disconnect the measuring instruments and tighten the hydraulic system hoses to a torque of 57±7 N·m.
12. Remove air from the hydraulic system.
