Checking the pull-in winding of the traction relay (Mitsubishi Pajero 4)

1. Disconnect the excitation winding wire from terminal M of the traction relay.

2. Connect 12V battery to terminals M and S of the traction relay.

Warning: This check must be performed quickly (no more than 10 seconds), to prevent the winding from burning out.

3. If the drive gear extends, then the pull-in winding of the traction relay is in good condition. Otherwise, replace the traction relay.
