Disassembling the central support





1. Remove the spring ring (1).

1) Install special tools MB991630 and MD998924 as shown in the figure so that they compress the inner ring of the one-way clutch.



2) Tighten the nut of the special tool and slightly compress the inner ring of the one-way clutch.

3) Remove the spring ring.

2. Remove the plate (2).

3. Remove the inner ring of the one-way clutch (3).



4. Remove the sealing ring (4).



5. Remove the spring retainer (5).

6. Remove the return spring (6).

7. Remove the downshift/reverse brake piston (7).

8. Remove the sealing ring (8).

9. Remove the sealing ring (9).

10. Remove the central support (10).

Assembling the central support



1. Install the central support (10).

2. Install the sealing ring (9).

3. Install the sealing ring (8).

Note:
  • Install new O-rings and coat them with automatic transmission fluid.
  • Be careful not to damage the O-rings during installation.


4. Install the downshift/reverse brake piston (7).

5. Install the return spring (6).

6. Install the spring retainer (5).

7. Install the sealing ring (4).

1) Install the sealing ring on the center support, in the position as shown in the figure.



8. Install the inner ring of the one-way clutch (3).

9. Install the plate (2).

10. Install the spring ring (1).

1) Install special tools MB991630 and MD998924 as shown in the figure so that they compress the inner ring of the one-way clutch.

2) Tighten the nut of the special tool and slightly compress the inner ring of the one-way clutch.

3) Install the spring ring.
