Removal
To remove the parking brake cable, perform the following steps.
Remove the floor console.

1. Remove the rear brake drum 8 (Fig. 14.58).
2. Remove spring 10 of the automatic regulator.
3. Remove the lower return spring 9.
4. Remove the automatic gap adjuster 4.
5. Remove the upper return spring 3.
6. Remove the cap 6 of the holder.
7. Remove the holder spring 7.
8. Remove the brake shoe holder 2.
9. Remove the brake shoe and lining assembly.
10. Remove the retainer 11.
11. Remove parking brake cable 1.
Parking brake drive cable for vehicles with rear disc brakes with integrated drum parking brake mechanism
To remove the parking brake cable on vehicles with rear disc brakes with an integrated drum parking brake mechanism, additionally perform the following operations.
1. Remove the cable holder 13 (see Fig. 14.58).
2. Remove the cable clamp 12.
3. Remove parking brake cable 1.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
1. Adjust the stroke of the parking brake lever.
2. Install the floor console.
