- If the door lock is installed on the latch with difficulty, unscrew the latch mounting screws and, by moving it in the horizontal and vertical planes, achieve normal door closing (Fig. 17.53).

- If there is an uneven gap around the perimeter of the luggage compartment door, loosen the hinge mounting bolts and adjust its position by moving the door (Fig. 17.54).

- Check the correct position of the damper with the tailgate closed. If the position of the damper is incorrect, move it forward or backward (Fig. 17.55).

Checking the free play of the tailgate handle
- Make sure that the free play of the luggage compartment door handle is within 1.1-5.1 mm (Fig. 17.56).

If the free play is not within the permissible range, open the door handle holder and adjust the contact condition between the rod and the door handle.
