Checking the generator relay (Mitsubishi Space Star)

1. Remove the generator relay from the relay box located in the engine compartment (Fig. 19.6).

2. Connect the positive probe of the ohmmeter to pin 2 of the relay and the negative probe to pin 4 and check that the circuit is complete.

3. Then check that the circuit is open when the positive probe of the ohmmeter is connected to terminal 4 of the relay and the negative probe is connected to terminal 2.

4. If the test results do not meet the requirements specified in points 2 or 3, replace the generator relay.
