Warning: If the automatic transmission has been replaced or overhauled, or the transmission fluid is contaminated, flush the heat exchanger and transmission fluid cooler lines.
1. Disconnect the hose that connects the gearbox and the oil cooler (radiator side) (see fig. 13.10).
2. Start the engine and drain the transmission fluid through the hose.
Warning: The engine must be stopped within one minute after starting. If all the transmission fluid has drained before then, turn off the engine at this point.
Volume of drained liquid: 3.5 l.
3. Pour new transmission fluid directly into the oil filler tube. Stop pouring fluid if the required amount cannot be poured into the transmission.
Volume of liquid to be filled: 3.5 l
4. Repeat the steps in step 2.
Note: Repeat steps 2-4 to drain at least 7.0 L of fluid through the oil heat exchanger hose.
